The origins of Pixalione

Originally, Pixalione was the result of a university research project on “Information Retrieval” (a disciplinary field whose object of study is the technology of search engines): R&D is therefore in the DNA of Pixalione since its inception.

During his PhD at Ecole Centrale Paris, Fabrice developed a search engine called R.E.U.S.E.

He then went to the United States for three years as a researcher at Bucknell and Penn State University to study the issues of semantic and ontological search engines and commonality/diversity later applied to content optimization. Having developed a totally unprecedented and with the desire to bridge the gap between the world of research and entrepreneurship, he decided to launch his own company.

The United States and France requiring too large initial funds to start such a project, Fabrice follows the advice of a Taiwanese researcher with whom he made friends in the United States: he suggests that he take an interest in Thailand. which has old famous universities like that of Chulalongkorn created in 1917 from which comes a good part of the thinking heads of the region. The cost of developers is also lower than in India and turnover is lower there.

Fabrice then takes a straight flight to Thailand with the idea of heading to Malaysia if the trip to Thailand is not successful. But when he arrived in Bangkok, he defended his project with the state authorities who granted him conditions rarely offered in Asia: 100% ownership of the company (which is usually almost impossible in Asia where the states systematically impose a participation of a local partner), as well as a tax exemption for 8 years, and other very advantageous conditions.

Quickly, the company was promoted by the Thai Board of Investment and found itself affiliated to the prestigious Software Park. The company then took the name of Pixalione: it is the contraction of “Pixel”, the digital element par excellence, and “lioness”, the queen of the savannah for the evocative power of the animal.

Fabrice spends two full years in Thailand where his soul as a researcher, his entrepreneurial spirit and his tenacity will carry him, despite relative isolation and a considerable workload. At the end of these two years, his efforts will be crowned with success with the creation of Pixalione’s first tool: Pixanalyzer, which will also earn him the official visit of the Minister of the Economy of Thailand in person.

In 2010, Fabrice decided to return to France to boost Pixalione. The tool developed in Thailand quickly finds its customers on French territory because it corresponds to a real need of companies, unmet until now: the team is expanding rapidly as contracts multiply.

In 2011, Pixalione launched the MONETORING project with the aim of developing the first Search Marketing software suite in the world. The ambition of this project is such that it will require two full years entirely dedicated to its design and launch.

Pixalione is now recognized as one of the leaders in the Search Marketing market. The group is present in France (Paris 15th), Lyon, Lille, Toulouse, but also in Amsterdam and Thailand (promoted by the Board of Investment of Thailand).

Founded on the values of effort and perseverance inherited from its beginnings in Thailand, nourished by long years of research carried out at the Ecole Centrale Paris and in the United States, Pixalione continues its history, faithful to its initial foundations: a history which also continues to be written thanks to its partners, its collaborators but also thanks to its customers and to the power and the originality of its tool, whose unique design and the permanent innovation which it requires do not stop growing. to optimize its performance.

Pixalione is betting on the alliance between the human and the algorithm, by offering a dual approach: the power of software that is unrivaled today and the relevance of expertise consulting that has been proven over time.

  • Our software suite is the result of our initial research and our spirit of innovation, but it is also the continuation of these foundations through our R&D center (a pool of 10 international researchers directly integrated within Pixalione).
  • Our consulting service is the deployment of expert collaborators in Search Marketing directly to our customers, both to collect their needs but also to read the necessary optimization elements that will make them progress. It is a personalized support whose meaning is ultimately the one chosen by our customers.

True guiding principles of Pixalione, research is constant and innovation remains at the heart of the activity: 2021 gave birth to 4 new modules, each corresponding to world firsts on these subjects.

Our Monitoring tool, boosted by research and innovation, has thus obtained results that greatly exceed the current American solutions that have been the benchmark in this field until now.

It is an exceptional daily support for our consultants who gain precious hours of work thanks to Monetoring which allow them to devote themselves to tasks with higher added value for our customers.

Because of its personalized dashboards, our tool is also a very practical way for our customers to really be able to continuously measure the performance of their site and the optimizations that we bring to it.

Finally, monitoring embodies the immediate link between our action and the performance of our clients: this directly quantifiable aspect in terms of the results obtained makes it today moreover its success and its notoriety.

Innovation

The heart of the Lioness (Pixalione)!

Since its creation, Pixalione has put R&D at the center of its strategy and this has continued to guide it until now. Pixalione thus participated in 7 international conferences on the following themes: “Information Mining and Management”, “Natural Language Processing”, “Web Search and Data Mining” and “Natural Language Generation” (notably IMMM, WSDM, EMNLP, TheWebConf).

As such, 3 research articles have been published by Pixalione internationally:

The link with the world of research which has constantly nourished the development of our tool and our service has also resulted in renowned partnerships for several years: with the CNRS (on the Semantic part), the Ecole Centrale Paris (on the the Optimization part) and the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (for the Adwords part).

Today, Pixalione is starting a new collaboration with The Polytechnic University of Valencia on the Sentiment Analysis part.
